Artists

The artists

Work by Alexey Luka

Alexey Luka

Alexey Luka was born in Moscow in 1983 and began experimenting with graffiti during his architecture studies. His visual language combines abstract shapes, geometric figures and flat areas of colour. Travel inspires his work; his murals can be seen in Paris, Marrakesh and Saarbrücken, among other cities.

Work by AYOH

AYOH

AYOH comes from New York and has artistic roots in graffiti. In his work, writing becomes a gestural trace: letters, lines and signs are repeated, layered and condensed until legibility recedes. Rhythm and movement shape a process with parallels to écriture automatique. AYOH deliberately keeps his identity private, placing his individual handwriting at the centre of his work.

Work by Fintan Magee

Fintan Magee

Born in Lismore in 1985, Fintan Magee lives in Sydney and focuses on social-realist painting. The son of an architect and a sculptor, he began drawing at an early age. Today his large-scale murals shape cities around the world, including London, Los Angeles and Saarbrücken.

Work by Hello

Hello

HELL’O is the Brussels-based duo Jérôme Meynen and Antoine Detaille. Founded in 2008, the collective has worked as a duo since 2014. Their colourful visual worlds combine geometric abstraction with fantastical hybrid creatures and influences from art history.

Work by Jean Faucheur

Jean Faucheur

Jean Faucheur is a pioneer of urban art. Following classical artistic training, he began placing his own paintings on advertising billboards in public spaces in 1983. That year he also founded Les Frères Ripoulin with fellow artists; an invitation from the Tony Shafrazi Gallery later took him to New York.

Work by Mist

Mist

French painter and sculptor Mist was born in Paris in 1972. His encounter with graffiti led him to study graphic arts at the École Estienne. Working with lettering and figures, he developed a distinctive visual language connecting graffiti and contemporary art.

Work by Reso

Reso

Reso became part of the international graffiti scene in the 1990s. Time spent in New York and encounters with its graffiti culture shaped his development. Since the early 2010s, his abstract works on canvas and paper have brought together gestural painting, writing, colour and form.

Work by Sen2 Figueroa

Sen2 Figueroa

Sandro Figueroa Garcia, known as Sen2, was born in 1969, grew up in Puerto Rico and lives in New York. Starting from graffiti, he developed mixed-media works on canvas. His vividly coloured compositions combine lettering, three-dimensional elements, pop art and abstract painting.
